Preconference Workshops - October 11

Option 1: For those interested in getting more involved in Making, included 3D printing, developing great Making lessons, and more. In this 8 hour instructor-led course you will learn how to assemble and operate a 3D printer based on the reliable third generation open-source Prusa i3 Mk2 design. Hundreds of thousands of this RepRap inspired 3D printer are being used all over the world by hobbyists and professionals alike. This machine includes a 200mm x 200mm heated build plate and 0.300 mm extruder sub-assembly compatible with PLS, ABS, Nylon and many other materials. Your printer will produce high-resolution parts with minimum 0.100 mm layer height at maximum 100 mm/sec stepper motor speeds.

Every student receives:

  • 3D printer parts kit, 2GB Micro-SD, complete assembly instructions
  • Assembly tool kit, nozzle cleaning kit
  • Borosilicate glass build plate for more reliable printing
  • 0.5 kg 1.75mm PLA filament
  • USB Thumb Drive with setting files, documentation and starter 3D models
  • For a limited time/while supplies last: 3D Printing for Dummies – 2nd Edition
